Pleasant Sunday

I posted a message yesterday, but it still has not appeared on the blog, although it says it should be there. I don't want to repeat myself, so I'll just post another about today. It was bright and cold this morning so I went down onto the sea ice and took some pictures of the ice wall and the broken ice surrounding the shore. It was low tide and it was just incredible to think that six hours after I took these pictures the ice that I was standing on would be level with the top of the ice wall! The whole surface just rises and falls with the tides and stays unbroken except for the pack ice around the shoreline. I went back around noon and took a couple more pictures at about mid-tide. When standing on the ice I could hear the ice groaning as it ground against the ice wall as it rose. Not having grown up around tides, I find this incredibly facinating. Hope you enjoy the pics.
