Another weekend. Only three more to go!Yesterday was a bit rainy so I went to the school and worked on making up final exams. I was glad I did because today was a beautiful day. I was going to go for a short hike and then a run, but it was so nice, I just kept on walking. Finally, it was almost as short to walk completely around the freshwater lake where the hamlet gets its water as it was to return the way I had come, so I ended up going all the way around, taking about three and a half hours. It was a wonderful walk. There are starting to be flowers on the tundra and there are still pussy willows on the low willow bushes. There is still some snow in places, but for the most part I was on dry ground. Just as I got back near town I came across something that would have to qualify in the category: "Most unlikely to find in the Arctic" An old SeaDoo. I can't imagine anyone bringing one here and hoping to use it!!
I have only four and a half more days of classes with my grade tens and elevens, and then next week is exam week. My grade 8/9 classes will continue most of the next week although I will get some breaks then as well. I have begun selling off my stuff so that I won't have to bring or send as much back. As you can probably tell, I'm getting antsy to go home.
