september update

Hi again
It's been another week of classes and things are beginning to settle down a little. I had my birthday last week and one of the teachers made a cake for the staff room. I also had a letter from my daughter Kristi with some really cute pictures of my grand daughter Kaelyn. My sister Sue and her husband Doug from Parry Sound also phoned (as did Laurel), to all in all I had a good day. On Friday I took my Gr 8/9 Science class out for a field study, and I've included a picture of them on a high rock overlooking the hamlet. This morning, I rode my mountain bike out to reversing falls, about 4.5 km. It doesn't sound very far, but there are a series of steep hill that I pushed the bike up. I had bought a new fishing lure I wanted to try. Well, within about 15 casts I had four nice cod. I've also included a picture of them. After that I picked a nice bunch of berries. They taste something like blueberries, but not quite as sweet. They grow on a little everygreen bush very close to the ground and are everywhere. I think I have enough to try making a dish my mom used to make with blueberries on the bottom and a sort of scone mix on top. I'll let you know if it turns out. My friends Paul and Donna have invited me for supper tonight to celebrate my birthday. Hope everyone is well. I really enjoy hearing news of home so keep writing!
