reversing falls revisited

Another weekend and another hike; not too long this time, just out to Reversing Falls, only about 4.5 km along the road. Ron, the school principal, and I decided hiked out to try a little more cod fishing because Ron hadn't had a chance to try it yet. The fish were biting again and I had one on my first cast. Altogether I kept five and Ron kept 7. I caught more but let them go. I decided to try most of the little lures and spinners that I had brought with me. It turns out that they bit best on anything with red on it, I got one with a lime green Little cleo, and nothing on any blue lure.
It has been an interesting week at school. Wednesday was the low point, but then things improved. It is really important that I just keep cool and not react to the nonsense from the kids. When they start to act up I send them out to the office and they get sent home. It's the only way that's fair to the kids who do want to learn. It's a different ball game up here, but I'm adjusting. I'm learning to cook as well. I just took some apple crisp out of the oven. I got the recipe out of the Cellar Singers cookbook. It looks and smells great. I'm looking forward to the long weekend; hope the weather allows a chance to get out on the land again. Take care, Jim

PS If you happen to zoom the picture you may notice some new foliage on my face. I'm thinking this may help to keep my face warm in the winter.
